Detailed 10 Days Uganda safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, Rhino tracking and hike to the top of the falls

10 Days Uganda Safari, Car Rental for Unforgettable 10-Day SafariTo start this trip, you will need to have arrived in Uganda the previous or arriving in the country in the early morning hours of the day. Our guide will come at your hotel of residence or the airport and pick you up in the morning hours to avoid the early morning traffic jam in Kampala.

You will embark on a trip to Murchison but have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to see the rhinos and have lunch en-route. You will later continue to Murchison Falls National Park and upon arriving, you will be led to the top of the Murchison Falls to witness how they were formed.

From here, you will proceed to your lodge, check in and then have dinner and rest.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise

You will wake up early in the morning, take breakfast and our guide/driver will take you for a game drive in Murchison Falls National Park to see so much especially wildlife species that reside within this park that include lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, giraffes, hyenas, warthogs, hartebeests, several species of birds and so much more.

After the game drive, you will head back to your hotel for your lunch and resting for a few hours. Right after that, our driver will take you to where you are supposed to start your boat cruise from which introduces you to some of the wildlife species like Crocodiles, hippos, several species of birds, and so much more.

Its from here that you will be able to see the Murchison Falls down stream as it pours its waters in the Nile river. The experience is rewarding and you can take as many photos as you want as you cruise closer to world’s most powerful waterfall.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and optional community walk

You will wake up early in the morning, take breakfast and our guide will then drive you to Kibale Forest National Park which is popularly known as the “Primate capital of the world” which is attributed to the fact that it does have more than 13 primate species that reside within the park’s premises. There’s no any other place with such a number of primates thus rendering the best place to do primate safaris.

You will have a stop over in Fort portal for lunch and then later proceed to your lodge check in. In the evening, you can choose to go on an optional community walk to see how people interact and their way of life.

Return back to your lodge for dinner and resting.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi wetland sanctuary

You will then be led back into the dense rainforest in search of chimpanzees and on spotting them, you will be allowed to spend 1-hour while observing their behaviors and taking as many photos as you want of these species as they play and feed.

Once the 1-hour elapses, you will be led back to the park headquarters where our guide will meet you and take you back to your lodge for lunch and resting.

After a few minutes of resting, you will head to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for an ultimate birding safaris. This is known to be among the best places in Uganda you can go to and see a number of bird species. Some of the birds species include the erusive shoebill stock, papyrus ganolek, common king fisher, great blue turaco, African pitta, pin-tailed wydah, superb sunbird and so much more.

You will then back to your lodge for dinner and resting.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, game drive and boat cruise

After this game drive, you will head to your hotel, check in and have lunch. Right after lunch, you will prepare for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which introduces you to some incredible and picturesque views of Queen Elizabeth National Park. While here, you will also get to see some of the wildlife species that include crocodiles, hippos, several species of birds and others on the shores of the lake.

You will then be led back to your hotel for dinner and resting.

Day 6: Brief game drive in Ishasha sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will wake up early, take breakfast and our driver will transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the tree climbing lions. It is unbelievable seeing these predators chill on tree branches but its memorable experience you will definitely need to capture on your lenses.

You will then proceed to Bwindi arriving in the late afternoon, check in to your lodge and resting to prepare for another rewarding activity the next day.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience

Right after taking breakfast, our driver will take you to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the guideless to follow while close and during the trekking.

You will then be led into the dense rainforest with the help of guides and armed rangers to locate where the gorillas are. Once you spot them, you will be allowed to spend only 1-hour around these endangered species while observing their behaviors and while here, you can ask any questions you would like to know about a particular gorilla family and you will get instant answers. You can as well take as many photos as you want of these species.

After the 1-hour, you will be led back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate indicating that you did participate in gorilla trekking in Uganda. Our driver will then transfer you to your lodge for lunch and resting.

In the evening, you will go on a community visit to see the batwa people who initially stayed within the park’s premises. These were later resettled in areas surrounding the park to pave way for conservations efforts. You will get a chance to see these perform for you and dance the traditional songs.

Head back to your lodge for dinner and resting.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park and evening game drive

You will wake up early in the morning and have a breakfast as provided by your lodge, check out of your lodge and our guide will then drive out of Bwindi to embark on a trip to Lake Mburo National Park  – one of the smallest and closest national parks to Kampala.

You will have a stop over in Mbarara for lunch and then continue to Lake Mburo while enjoying the beautiful scenic views of this part of the country. Upon arrival in the park in the late afternoon, you go for a game drive which does introduce you to some of the wildlife species that live within the park’s boundaries. These include elands, zebras, giraffes, impalas, topi, oribis and so much more.

You will then head back to your lodge and rest.

Day 9: Boat cruise and Transfer to Jinja

After your early morning breakfast our guide will take you where you are supposed to get your boat cruise from and while on your boat cruise, you will get to see animals like the crocodiles, hippos, different species of birds and so much more. You can as well capture that award winning photograph of this beautiful part of the country.

After your boat cruise, you will embark on a trip to Jinja – one of Uganda’s oldest cities. Arrive at your lodge late in the evening and rest.

Day 10: White water rafting and bungee jumping

Early morning breakfast and you will then be transferred to the Nile River where you will have to do white water rafting. This has grades and you will be allocated a stage that is easier for you. After white water rafting, you will proceed and do bungee jumping still on the Nile. These might be thrilling activities but they memorable and an experience you need while on a Uganda safari.

After bungee jumping, you will head back to your hotel for lunch and check out to head on a trip back to Kampala to either your lodge or direct to Entebbe airport to catch your next flight home.
