Discover the optimal and best time to book a self drive car rental in Uganda. Self-driving has increasingly become a popular alternative for many travelers across the world. However, it is important to consider the best time to book a self-drive rental car in Uganda, not just because you are looking for a special experience but rather because you are thinking of saving some coins in your pocket or so many inconveniences when it comes to traveling at specific times or seasons.
Uganda mainly experiences two seasons, and many travelers consider this seasonality to vary before deciding to travel in the country. It’s important to study the season and know when the best offers are availed by a number of car rental companies, accommodations, and activities. Usually, the availability of amenities, facilities, and activities in different travel destinations is determined by seasonal alternation. For instance, during peak travel season, all facilities tend to hike their rates as a result of high demand from the influx of travelers in those places.
Uganda experiences two seasons throughout the year, the dry and wet seasons in four quarters of the year;
- December to February
- March to June
- July to September
- October to November
December to February
This is the busiest time of the year, with many travelers coming in for the holiday season. This is the time when prices are up, making it hard to get a discount on accommodation and transport. However, the weather conditions are fair for planning an exciting trip to most parts of the country, as there are minimal rains during this time of year.
March to June
March to June is, so far, the best time to visit any popular destination in Uganda, such as safari parks. This is a hybrid of a low season and what you would call an average season, if there is such a thing. April and May are the lowest seasons of the year with the best rates due to low demand, while March and June are average months and also the best time of the year to book gorilla permits for August.
July to September
July to August are associated with high rates due to high demand, so we recommend prior bookings at least three to four months in advance. Although these months are very busy, they are also somewhat dry, making them conducive to safaris.
October to November
These two months are also recommended because they are not as busy as the other months of the year. However, these two months are known for the drizzles that often happen on a regular basis. The roads will be muddy, but not as bad as some weeks in December.
